Hot and spicy leftover turkey recipe

Carrots ghormeh خورش هویج

Preparations: 10 minutes

Cooking: 20-30 minutes

Servings: 4-6


🦃 4 medium-large carrots, sliced in 1/4 inches or to your desired size

🦃1 cup of dry pitted washed plums

🦃1 medium onion, chopped

🦃1 tablespoon tomato paste

🦃1 tablespoon sugar/ brown sugar

🦃1/2 teaspoon turmeric

🦃1 teaspoon teaspoon garam masala

🦃Salt and pepper to taste

🦃1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

🦃2 tablespoon butter

🦃1 tablespoons cold pressed olive oil or avocado oil

🦃1 lemon or lime, juice

🦃1/2 cup to 1 cup chicken broth,

hot water, or vegetable stock

🦃1/4 teaspoon infused saffron (check how to make on website or Instagram page)


1. Add butter and olive oil In a large hot skillet over medium heat, sauté onion, gram masala and carrots (until golden brown) add tomato paste stir.

2. Add plums, sugar and lemon juice, stir well.

3. Cover and let simmer for 5 minutes.

4. Add broth, saffron and Turkey cubs, cover and let it simmer until you see the oil is on the top of ingredients. (For about 15-20 minutes

5- Serve with basmati rice, mashed potatoes or yam.
